AĞRI’DAKİ ÖLÜM KUŞ GRİBİNDEN!

Anlık Görüntü tarih, arşiv, gerçeklik ve gerçekliği bildirme üzerine kurulu bir Işıl Eğrikavuk performansı. 1950’lerden bugüne Türk basınında manşet olmuş haberlerin tarihsel ve mekansallıklarından çıkarılarak yeni bir bağlamda, bu kez izleyici tarafından yeniden yazılmaları sonucu gerçekleşecek. Haberler bu kez izleyicinin kaleminden kurgulanacak ve arşiv yeniden yazılarak sorgulanacak.

Yarın saat 19’da başlayacak bu performans sıras›nda PiST/// 1’de bir TV stüdyosu, PiST/// 2 ve 3’deyse haber odası kurulacak. Önce haber odasındaki izleyicilerden haberleri yazmaları istenecek. Yazılan haberler daha sonra PiST/// 1’deki spiker tarafından okunacak. PiST/// 7-24 vitrininden canlı yayınlanacak bu haber akışının dökümantasyonu 24 Ocak 2007’ye kadar da 7 gün 24 saat sokaktan izlenebilecek.

ÖZAL HAS GROWN 7 CM WIDER!
DEATH IN AGRI DUE TO BIRD FLU!

Snapshot is a performance by Işıl Eğrikavuk,investigating history, archiving, reality and reporting reality. Turkish Press’ news headlines from 50’s up to now will be taken from their historical and geographical context and will be re-situated into a new context, thus will give language and history a constructed reality. By re-writing news stories, the audience will be asked to question the archive.

Performance will start at 7 pm tomorrow from the TV studio , which will be installed at PiST/// 1, and PiST/// 2-3 will serve as a news room, where the audience will be invited to write the news. In the news room audience is going to be given a headline and will be asked to complete the rest. Collected stories will then be taken into the next room, where an anchorman will read them. The whole process will be broadcasted live to the street from the PiST/// 7-24 window display. Documentation of this performance will also be screened at PiST/// storefront until January 24th for 7 days and 24 hours.
