“Anamnez” hafızanın karmaşık ve katmanlı oluşumuna işaret eden bir kelime. Anamnez 1 obje üretimi, performans, video ve animasyon kullanılarak ortaya çıkacak ortaklaşa bir üretim sürecinin başlığı.

Maya Ersan çalışmalarını İstanbul ve Montreal’de sürdüren genç bir sanatçı. PiST/// 7-24 için hazırladığı bu iş öncelikle bir görsel yerleştirme, ardında da üç boyutlu gölge, kukla ve ışık oyunundan oluşacak bir performans olarak 7 - 24 Eylül 2008 tarihleri arasında sergilenecek. İnsanın yutabileceği boyuta indirilmiş, hafızası silinmiş, sessiz ve renksiz bir şehir, 24 Eylül akşamına kadar PiST/// 7-24 vitrininde bekleyecek. 24 Eylül gecesi saat 21’den itibarense bir şehrin içerisinde gömülü ipuçlarını, hatırlanması tercih edilmeyenleri, ısrarla hatırlatılanları, arşivlenenleri ve tescillenenleri bir araya getiren, bu hafıza kalabalığından yola çıkarak ışık ve gölge oyununu kullanan bir performansa dönüşecek. PiST/// 7-24'deki bu sergi 7 gün, 24 saat izlenebilir.

The word “anamnesis” points to the layered and complex nature of the formation of memory. It’s the title of a collaborative process that uses object creation, performance, video and animation.

Maya Ersan is a young artist working in Istanbul and Montreal. For PiST/// 7-24, this piece is initially a visual installation that will become a performance using shadow play, puppets and animation. From September 7th to 24th, 2008 a vacant, muted city that has shrunk in size will wait for the evening of September 24th at the PiST/// 7-24 window display. On the night of September 24th, at 9 pm, the piece will become a performance that weaves together traces of memory embedded in the city, memory that has been erased, forgotten, enforced, archived and confirmed. In this crowd of memories Anamnesis 1 is a story that will come out of a performance that uses light and shadow.
